Two streams of Syrian refugees continue to flow into Calgary, but how are they settling in once they finally arrive?
In the last 10 days, 146 new refugees have arrived in Calgary, all greeted by a smiling face and a volunteer in a white hat. However, the sheer number of youths arriving, remains staggering, even for those staging their welcomes.
CEO of the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society Fariborz Birjandian tells NewsTalk770 that as of last week, in their reception houses alone, 70 of 107 Syrians were child aged.
Birjandian adds over the next couple of weeks, they expect the number to double.
